What I Brought Home From Real’s National Conference in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, 1,800+ Real agents, connection, collaboration, and two theme parties that were over the top in the best way possible. No sleep was had last week.

This company, REAL, is something special: the learning, the people, the rooms I got to be in this week. I came home exhausted in the best way possible.

Why I Go to Real Estate Conferences

The reasons I go to real estate conferences range from education about what is working in marketing, to a deep-dive understanding of the market, to connecting with leadership in my brokerage. I go to be inspired and learn from the best in our industry, from what is working in marketing videos to how consumer sentiment is changing and how I need to adjust the way I market properties to match it.

I go to find renewed motivation. If I ever find myself in a funk, I think that a conference where I am surrounded by agents I want to learn from, seminars where I take pages of notes on ideas to bring back to my business, and networking with agents from across the country will light a fire under me.

Lessons That Aren’t Just About Real Estate

The education at #realrise2026 is unmatched, and some of the most valuable lessons aren’t real estate specific.

In a market where we are all pushed to be better and do more, I am lucky to be part of a brokerage that recognizes how mindset and motivation are almost as important as marketing skills. I was lucky to see speakers like Sharran Srivatsaa, Neel Dhingra, and Kindra Hall, and to be inspired by our VP of Agent Learning, Dusty Oglesby. (You should go follow all of them, even if you aren’t a realtor.)

These are some of the top quotes that I think we all can take to heart:

“Be More Weird.”
AI can be weird, but not in your unique way.

Small Talk Leads to Big Talk.
We are instant friends with people who share our interests. Small talk about shared interests leads to connections, which leads to opportunities.

Tell Your Story.
Emotions, not just information. Characters and details are what people connect to.

Do Less, Better.
There are so many paths to success, but you can’t take all of them at once. You will go farther, faster, with focus.

“Not giving up is the most heroic thing you can do.”

Stick With It Way Longer Than You Think It Will Take.
Most people give up before they’ve taken enough consistent action to see results. Keep going!

Failure Is an Event, Not a Person.
YOU are not a failure. You tried and failed. You can always try again.

You Find What You Look For.
So look for opportunities, not problems. It’s like the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon for success.

You don’t get better by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but by stacking proof that you are who you say you are.
Both confidence and self-confidence are built through consistent action.

How My Agent Network Helps Sell Your Home

The agent network is one of the biggest benefits of conferences, and of being with a national brokerage like Real that encourages collaboration. “We before Me,” and “Collaboration over competition,” are two of Real’s guiding principles. Not only do I get to learn from other agents and connect with realtors who “get it,” these connections also help me sell your home. About 70% of my clients come to me through agent-to-agent referrals via the connections I made at these conferences.

The future is NOW, and I am so ready for it.
