Where to Go for Valentine's Day in Cincinnati

by Betsy Repaske

Greater Cincinnati’s food scene is one of the many reasons we love living in this city.  Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to go out an experience a new-to-you restaurant or return to an old favorite.  But is can be hard to remember to book a reservation ahead of time before all of the timeslots book up that weekend.

We Got You!  We started booking Valentine’s reservations back in December so that we’d have spots saved FOR YOU at some of our favorite restaurants across town.

You can enter to win the chance to snag one of these reservations and have your Valentine’s plans in the bag.

Sotto – Downtown Cincinnati

Sotto is a classic for a reason: intimate underground vibes, incredible Italian food, and one of the most romantic dining rooms in the city. We especially love their housemade gluten-free pasta, which feels just as indulgent as the traditional dishes. And whatever you do, save room for dessert — the ricotta doughnuts or the caramel ice cream affogato are the kind of sweet ending that make the night unforgettable.

Ivory House – Westwood

Ivory House brings elevated steakhouse energy to the heart of Westwood with fantastic food, polished service, and a warm, celebratory atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that feels special without feeling stuffy, making it perfect for a Valentine’s dinner that’s equal parts approachable and impressive. We love highlighting Ivory House as a reminder that some of Cincinnati’s best date nights live just outside the downtown core.

Rodi – Downtown Loveland

Located in adorable downtown Loveland, Rodi serves some of the best housemade pasta in Greater Cincinnati, hands down. But don’t stop there — their non-pasta dishes are just as memorable (we still dream about the fish we had last summer). Add in the charming walkable setting, and Rodi is an easy favorite for a relaxed but truly special Valentine’s night.

Abigail Street – Over-the-Rhine

Abigail Street is all about sharing — from Mediterranean-inspired small plates to incredible wine — which makes it perfect for a Valentine’s dinner meant to be enjoyed together. The menu encourages trying a little of everything, turning dinner into a fun, interactive experience. Lively, flavorful, and inviting all at once, it’s ideal for couples who love to explore and linger.

Ripple Wine Bar – O’Bryonville

Ripple Wine Bar is a go-to for couples who love great wine and great cocktails. The small-plate format is perfect for sharing, letting you try lots of dishes while keeping the night relaxed and conversational. Stylish yet approachable, Ripple is the kind of place where one glass easily turns into a long, memorable evening.

Emery – Mariemont

Emery is a standout for its abundant gluten-free options that are flavorful, light, and never feel like a compromise. And if you’re gluten-free and bummed about missing Sotto’s ricotta doughnuts, don’t worry — Emery’s gluten-free doughnut holes absolutely deliver. Set in charming Mariemont, it’s a thoughtful, welcoming choice for a Valentine’s dinner that feels both special and easy.
